Seamus McNally, Acting Coach and Teacher, Filmmaker

Seamus McNally, Founder-Cavale Studio, has been a professional acting coach and teacher for nearly twenty years. In addition to holding ongoing classes out of his studio on Union Square, he coaches actors privately, and consults directors for a wide array of film and television productions.

 

Recent projects include Roots (A&E/History/Lifetime), Vinyl (HBO), Copper (BBC America), Blue Bloods (CBS), CSI (CBS), Orange is the New Black (Netflix).

 

As a filmmaker, Seamus has directed numerous narrative short films including: To Paint the Portrait of a Bird, The Hypnotist, Sketches of Honey, Good Old Days, Exchange Place, and an excerpt from Mike Leigh's Ecstasy to name a few. His films have premiered at Cannes, Montreal, Woodstock, Mill Valley, and won Best Short Film at the final NY/Avignon Film Festival.

 

Throughout the past several years he has been developing a diverse portfolio of projects for feature film and television. (See Projects in Development)  

 

Seamus frequently applies his approach to working with actors outside of the entertainment industry, with a focus on attorneys. He and a small group of collaborators regularly hold seminars and workshops and provide consultation services for a wide spectrum of clientele, ranging from advertising executives to trial lawyers.
